Kenfig Hill 2nds took on Glynneath 2nds in a league match played in Cornelly due to the poor state of the Kenfig Hill pitch. Kenfig Hill played with a very young side including around 6 youth team players. The pitch soon cut up and made running rugby difficult. Glynneath could only field 14 players to start with but made up numbers to 15 by borrowing a player from Kenfig Hill, and opted for passive scrums. Kenfig Hill were soon putting pressure on the Glynneath line and went over for the first score after 20mins with top try scorer Dan Dryden going over again from a driving lineout. Glynneath replied with a long range penalty after 25mins but missed another penalty just before half time to make the half time score 7-3. Kenfig Hill started to take control in the 2nd half with Gareth Russell leading the way on his return to playing action. Fly half Rhys Ansen went over under the posts mid way through the 2nd half after cutting through the Glynneath back line. Youth flanker Josh Dixon barged his way over after a flowing move involving the forwards and returning prop Lee (Bull) Williams then charged over after an excellent move to get the bonus point try. Youth scrum half Connor Tantum converted three of the tries to make the final score 26-3 to Kenfig Hill. All of the youth players performed well with some in their first outing in senior rugby and others starting to become regulars in the side.
